Frequently Asked Questions

Before you sign up for class, check out our frequently asked questions about our classes, our mindset, and more…  If you have another question that is not listed here, please send us a message [email protected].

Before you register for session classes, please be aware that we have updated our cancellation/refund policy.  A full refund will no longer be issued.  If you cancel one month before classes begin you will receive a refund minus a $40.00 materials/admin fee.  If you cancel between one month to two weeks before classes begin you will receive a 50% refund.  There will be NO refund issued within two weeks of classes beginning.  If you switch classes at any time, there will be a $20.00 admin fee.  ***For a single event (such as a “Night at the Studio” event), if you cancel by the Monday before the event you will receive a full refund less a 10% processing fee.  If you cancel between Monday and Wednesday you will received a 50% refund.  NO refund will be issued after Wednesday.  Click here to view our cancellation/refund policy.

Please make sure your child has used the restroom and has had a snack before attending class.  We do not allow food in the studio for safety reasons (camps and special events are the exception, but nut-free items only) and try to limit distractions like frequent bathroom trips.  Water bottles are allowed but must be kept in the cubbies, as they have become too much of a distraction in the classroom.  We also encourage toys to be kept at home.

We say “Dress for Mess” at Amelia Art Studio, we keep the studio clean but when working with art supplies and different mediums there may be beautiful messes.

We are sensitive to children that may have separation anxiety, but we are prepared and expect these reactions from time to time.  We have found that the sooner the parent leaves, the easier it is for us to get the child settled and having fun with art!  Because we don’t encourage parents to stay and observe (as this will distract the child from learning) we post regularly on our social channels to keep you updated!

We have very high expectations for our artists, so we only have three main rules which are as follows:
   1.  Be a good listener
   2.  Stay seated for safety
   3.  Follow directions

At Amelia Art Studio we have a zero-tolerance for bullying, should we need to discipline a child for breaking our code of conduct in the studio we have a very formal way of doing so as follows:

First offense – Child receives a verbal warning.

Second offense – Child has art privileges taken away.

Third offense – Parent/guardian is contacted.

We have an inclusion model and encourage children with special needs to join our art classes.  We have experience in teaching children with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans).  Please contact us for more information.

If your child is ill, please keep them home.  Children not feeling well do not enjoy their time with us.  Unfortunately we do not offer make-up days.  If possible, we will provide the primary component of the missed lesson so the child can complete the project at home using their own supplies (for some lessons, such as clay, this will not be possible).
